JOURNEY ROUTE Paro → Thimphu → Punakha → Paro
DAY 01 Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu +
Meet your Evara Travel guide at Paro International Airport and drive through the river valley to Thimphu. Enjoy a relaxed introduction to Bhutan’s capital and local life.
DAY 02 Discover Thimphu +
Visit the Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten and selected centres dedicated to Bhutanese arts and crafts. Explore local markets and important cultural landmarks.
DAY 03 Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass +
Travel across Dochula Pass and visit its 108 memorial chortens. Continue into Punakha Valley and walk through rural landscapes to Chimi Lhakhang.
DAY 04 Punakha Dzong and Return to Paro +
Visit Punakha Dzong at the meeting point of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Afterwards, return across the mountains to Paro and prepare for the festival experience.
DAY 05 Experience the Paro Tshechu +
Attend the Paro Tshechu with your guide and witness sacred masked dances, traditional music and colourful community celebrations. Your guide will explain the meanings and stories associated with the performances.
DAY 06 Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike +
Hike through pine forest to Taktsang Monastery, dramatically positioned on a cliff above Paro Valley. After descending, enjoy a relaxed final evening in Bhutan.
DAY 07 Departure from Paro +
Transfer to Paro International Airport with assistance from your guide and depart Bhutan with memories of its sacred festivals, valleys and cultural traditions.
